Pangandaran Airshow 2026 Officially Concludes, Featuring Over 60 Aircraft And Strengthening Aviation Spirit Among The Public

PANGANDARAN, September 18, 2026 – Pangandaran Airshow 2026, held from September 4–6, 2026, at the Susi International Beach Strip, Pangandaran, has officially concluded with great success. The national-scale aviation event was attended by public, government officials, embassy representatives, flying club communities, and air sports enthusiasts.

More than 60 aircraft, ranging from trike and non-trike planes to paramotors and paragliders, participated to light up the skies of Pangandaran. The presence of various aviation communities and flying clubs from several regions across Indonesia transformed the event into more than just an air display, it became a vibrant space for aviation enthusiasts to meet, share experiences, and build networks.

Pangandaran Airshow represents the ongoing commitment and passion for aviation held by Susi Pudjiastuti. The founder of Susi Air, Susi Pudjiastuti, initiated the event with the vision of bringing the world of aviation closer to the public, particularly the younger generation, while demonstrating that aviation activities can harmoniously coexist with local tourism, communities, and cultural heritage.

"Aviation serves as the umbrella of our archipelagic nation. The land represents the islands, and the sea connects those islands into the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. It is the sky that unites us and brings us closer together. This understanding needs to be reinforced by bringing aviation and its activities closer to our society. Pangandaran Airshow is one of the initiatives I have taken to achieve this," stated Susi Pudjiastuti during her opening remarks on Saturday (5/9).

Beyond introducing aviation to the public, Susi Pudjiastuti emphasized her hope that the event would deliver a tangible local impact. Dozens of local MSMEs participated in the MSME Festival, providing direct economic benefits to the Pangandaran community.

Event Highlights: Pangandaran Airshow 2026

Day 1 (September 4, 2026): Environmental Action & Beach Concert

The arrival of aircraft from various flying clubs at the Susi International Beach Strip marked the beginning of the event. Day one featured environmental conservation efforts, including a coastal mangrove planting activity in collaboration with Pandu Laut Indonesia. The initiative involved 200 participants, including invited guests and volunteers.

In the evening, festivities continued with a public concert (Pesta Rakyat) at Paamprokan Square. The night kicked off with a performance by Yogyakarta’s Jasmine Band, followed by a headline show from the legendary rock band SLANK, who performed a 15-song set starting with their hit "I Miss You But I Hate You." The night concluded with a cultural performance of Ronggeng Gunung, bringing visitors and locals together to dance to traditional Pangandaran music.

Day 2 (September 5, 2026): Main Opening Ceremony & Aerial Displays

The second day served as the peak of the event, featuring key strategic milestones. These included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Susi Air and BASARNAS regarding Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, as well as the official inauguration of the Susi Environmental School by the Vice Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq.

The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, attended the ceremony to officially open the event. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the airshow and highlighted the importance of broadening aviation awareness among the youth.

"This activity carries great meaning for our efforts to expand aviation awareness. We are fundamentally a maritime and aviation nation, yet our perspective on both remains limited. Hopefully, Ibu Susi’s initiative will inspire the young generation of West Java to better understand this potential," stated Dedi Mulyadi.

Aerial displays continued throughout the day. Pilots competed in flight competitions covering Spot Landing and Short Field Take-Off categories for both trike and non-trike classes.

Attendees were also treated to a performance by the Vocalista Angels choir from Klaten, champions of the World Choir Games 2026 in Sweden. A major highlight was the flypass by Susi Air’s Piaggio Avanti. Known for its high-speed cruising capability, the turboprop aircraft delivered a thrilling experience for spectators as it swept over the Susi International Beach Strip.

During a break in the event lineup, Susi Pudjiastuti together with the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, distributed free joy flight tickets to 61 participants. A total of 57 participants had the opportunity to fly on Susi Air’s Cessna Grand Caravan, while 4 other participants experienced a flight aboard a helicopter. This activity gave the public, including children, a chance to experience flight firsthand and observe aviation activities up close. For some of the children, this marked their very first time aboard an aircraft, which was met with pure excitement and enthusiasm. This experience is expected to spark curiosity and foster an interest in aviation among children, serving as a first step to introduce the aerospace world to the younger generation in a closer, more tangible way. Day two concluded with an open-apron session, allowing visitors to walk among the parked aircraft and take photos with the pilots.

Day 3 (September 6, 2026): Aircraft Departures & Closing

On the final day, participating pilots began departing for their home hangars. Crowds gathered along the edge of the beach strip to watch the aircraft take off one by one.

Although several departures experienced brief delays due to temporary airport closures in the Jabodetabek and West Java regions caused by volcanic ash activity from Mount Anak Krakatau, the departure ceremony remained a captivating finale for spectators.

Pangandaran Airshow 2026 proved to be more than just an air display. Over three days, the event connected the world of aviation with the public through a diverse range of activities, including education, air sports, environmental action, local MSME empowerment, culture, and entertainment.
